What Does the 5,000 cc Scale Indicate?

The device’s scale is graduated up to 5,000 cc, equivalent to 5 litres. It is marked in 300 cc increments up to 1,200 cc, in 400 cc increments from 1,200 to 2,000 cc, and in 500 cc increments from 2,000 to 5,000 cc. The movement of the indicator provides approximate feedback on the volume inhaled during the exercise. Reaching 5,000 cc is not necessary for every patient; each individual’s target is determined according to their condition.

This scale is intended to guide the exercise and is not used to measure lung capacity precisely or diagnose disease. Diagnostic spirometry is a separate test performed using a spirometer.

Use and Care

RESPIVOL 5000 may be prescribed for certain patients recovering from surgery or individuals who need breathing exercises. The device is intended for use by one patient only and must not be shared.

Wash and dry the device after each use, and store it in a clean, dry environment. Children must use the device under adult supervision.
