When checking body temperature at home or in care settings, speed and ease of use matter. The Tiramed IRT 1602 digital thermometer measures temperature at the forehead without direct skin contact. The IRT 1602 is the simpler model in the Tiramed thermometer range and is designed to measure body temperature at the forehead only. It displays the result in approximately one second and also includes a separate mode for measuring object temperature.
Non-Contact Forehead Temperature Measurement
To measure body temperature, position the device 2–3 cm from the forehead. Non-contact measurement makes the IRT 1602 convenient for use by different family members and in settings such as clinics, nurseries and schools.
When monitoring temperature changes over successive readings, keep the measurement distance and technique as consistent as possible.
Object Temperature Measurement
The dedicated object mode allows users to check the temperature of items such as feeding bottles, food, liquids and surfaces. The reading displayed in this mode represents the object’s temperature and should not be compared with body temperature.
Sensor and Response Time
This model is equipped with a Japanese sensor and displays the measurement result in approximately one second.
Display and Additional Features
The colour LCD with backlighting makes readings easy to view and changes colour when a fever alert is triggered. Users can choose to display results in Celsius or Fahrenheit.
The device stores the last nine readings, allowing users to track temperature changes over successive measurements. Silent mode allows temperature checks during sleep, and the device switches off automatically after 30 seconds of inactivity.
Power Supply
The device operates on two AAA batteries. When the batteries run out, they can be replaced immediately, allowing measurements to continue without waiting for recharging.
Cooling Patch
Each IRT 1603 package includes a disposable cooling patch. The patch provides quick, temporary relief from the feeling of heat associated with fever. Unlike conventional compresses, it does not require refrigeration and is ready to use whenever needed.
Protection and Storage
The thermometer and its accessories come in a hard-shell EVA case. The case makes the device easier to carry and store while helping protect it against pressure and impact.
